I recently had the opportunity to try using microfiber for everyday cleaning around my house and I finally see what all the hype is about.
The makers behind Sollievo sent me a great deal of information and lots of Sollievo microfiber towels to try out. They came just in time too as the world has been on a cleaning frenzy, creating the perfect opportunity to really put these clothes to the test.

We have a cleaning services that comes regularly to do the BIG cleaning days but on the day to day, I like to tidy as I go throughout the day like after breakfast, while I’m cooking dinner and after dinner.
I’m a persnickety cleaner and organizer, so I definitely had my doubts about using a cloth to clean EVERYTHING. I wasn’t about to reuse the same cloth for different areas of my house. I’m a bit of a germ-a-phobe and on top of that it’s the perfect storm for cross contamination. So when Sollievo sent me multiple sets of microfiber towels, labeled for different uses, I was really open to giving it a try. I’ve noticed some big improvements.
I still have reservations about not using cleaning products but I really do appreciate that I can clean glass and windows easily without having to use chemical based cleaning products.
Cleaning is also much faster - full stop! These days I really have NO time for spending hours at a time cleaning.
For cleaning windows:
Smudgy windows are gross and give me the feeling of living in a grimy place. The Sollievo Window and Glass Cleaning Cloths are made with special tightly woven microfibers combined with Iontek technology. Using only water, it will leave your window and glass surfaces spotless without streaks or residues. This cloth works well for windows, mirrors, shower doors, glass tables, crystal, wine glasses, brushed and stainless steel and any shiny surfaces but you shouldn’t use it on anti-glare surfaces.

• Lightly mist the surface with water and polish with a dry window cloth.
• For dirtier surfaces, use 2 SOLLIEVO Window and Glass Microfiber Cleaning Cloths. Wet one cloth and clean the surface thoroughly, then take a second dry cloth and polish the surface for a streak free and lint free shine.
• This cloth is great for many surfaces: windows, mirrors, shower doors, glass tables, crystal, wine glasses, brushed and stainless steel and any shiny surfaces.
• Not recommended for Anti-Glare Surfaces.
For cleaning kitchens:
I have to admit, I use A LOT of paper towels on the daily when I’m cleaning up behind myself. Sollievo offers sustainable kitchen specific cleaning clothes so you won’t need anymore paper towels. Did you hear that, “no more paper towels needed”. I really felt like that scene out of "Mommy Dearest" for a minute,“No more wire hangers”. Seriously, the highly absorbant weave thoroughly cleans countertops with only water and dries surfaces completely. The IonTek Technology woven into the cloth helps them to self purify so you do not wake up the next morning to a musty smelling cloth hanging in your kitchen!

• Use wet to wipe away dirt and debris from all washable surfaces using only water.
• Use dry to pick up crumbs or to dry your pots and pans.
• Our cloths are a bit larger to give you more surface area to clean with. Fold the cloth so you have eight clean sides. Wipe with even strokes.
• Not recommended for Anti-Glare Surfaces
For cleaning multipurpose surfaces:
Again, no more paper towels! The IonTek Technology woven into the cloth helps them not only picks up dirt and grime in the house, it also self purifies so you don’t have to deal with that gross smell!

• Use wet to wipe away dirt and debris from all washable surfaces using only water.
• Use dry to pick up dust, dirt and the random crumbles around the house.
• Our cloths are a bit larger to give you more surface area to clean with. Fold the cloth so you have eight clean sides. Wipe with even strokes.
• Not recommended for Anti-Glare Surfaces
For electronics:
The multipurpose and/or window and glass microfiber cloth can also be used to clean your iPhone, android, laptop, computer monitor, flatscreen, etc. In fact, this is probably my favorite use case. I’’ve made it a habit to clean my iPhone and iWatch screen at least twice a day. So I keep one cloth close to my desk as a reminder to do so.
As you can see in my photos, each type of cloth is a different color as well as labelled so you won’t get them confused. I would honestly be really annoyed if I had to remember which color was for which cleaning area. I would never want to have to commit that to memory. I don’t have the bandwidth for that. Fortunately, they are clearly labelled in a manner where the label isn’t going to fall off.

How to Care for the Sollievo Microfiber Cleaning Cloths:
I found their care instructions extremely easy to follow. For “slightly dusty” clothes, wash with any dishwashing liquid under warm running water. Rinse and hang dry or drop in dryer. For “regular laundering”, launder microfiber cloths separately of with similarly lint-free Laundry. Dry completely. For "deep stains or odors”, boil for 10 minutes to allow fibers to swell and release the debris. I do have to give one very strong disclaimer, “I’m definitely not going to boil my cloths if they get stained. They will be going straight into the washing machine.
Sollievo does offer some simple guidelines for washing them in the washing machine:
- Wash warm/ 40 degrees celcius
- Tumble dry
- Do not use bleach, fabric softeners, or dryer sheets
