Since the new year, life has been insane - nonstop meetings, calls, planning and of course actually executing. After my year-long hiatus, I’ve really hit the ground running. Since my schedule isn’t 9-5, I'm trying to work some new daily wellness activities into my routine. So far I’ve tried burning a candle while I’m at my desk and sipping different types of tea throughout the day. On the daily basis, I’m always trying something new for my skin (and this blog) but I’m now trying to find products that are not just good for “maintenance” but also for wellness. More importantly, I’m trying to do my skincare routine more consciously instead of going through the motions to get it done.
So, I decided to try and incorporate products from Resveralife into my daily wellness routine. Resveralife offers customers a healthy lifestyle experience by engaging the 5 senses - sight, touch, smell, taste, and sound through their product line. They promote an active, healthy lifestyle through a healthy and conscious diet, exercise, rejuvenation and spiritual wellness. Resveralife sent me several items from the shop to try. So far I’ve tried the Resveralife Body Exfoliant, the Body Butter, the Hidden Hibiscus tea, the White Gardenia Candle and the Lilac Blossom Cast Iron Teapot.
For the last few days, I’ve replaced my usual exfoliant and moisturizer for the Body Exfoliant and Body Butter from Resveralife. The Resveralife Body Exfoliant is made from bamboo extract powder, safflower seed oil, walnut shell powder, chamomile and black tea. It almost smells edible because of the nutty scent with a hint of vanilla. I especially like to use it around my knees and elbows. The scrub isn’t too harsh, meaning that it doesn’t leave you feeling like you’ve scrapped all your skin off. You can also comfortably use a loaf or an exfoliant mitt with the exfoliant. After you rinse the exfoliant off your skin feels smooth, yet still hydrated.
The Body Butter is amazingly moisturizing. It’s made from Shea Butter ( which I absolutely love), marigold flower extract, sunflower seed oil, aloe vera, cucumber, and chamomile. It’s extremely rich and thick so a little bit goes a very long way. The scent of the body butter compliments the exfoliant with a light vanilla fragrance. You may want to wait a minute or two before you get dressed so that the Body Butter gets absorbed into your skin but other than that you’ll feel well moisturized throughout the day.
I mentioned many times on this blog that I like to drink tea. What I really meant to say is that I drink tea whenever I’m not drinking coffee! I’ve capped my coffee at 2 cups a day max but I allow myself to sip on tea as much as I want. I typically love green tea but I thought I’d give the Hidden Hibiscus Tea from Resveralife a try. This tea has organic hibiscus, cinnamon, orange peel, and lemon myrtle. Hibiscus is known to relieve stress. It’s also an excellent source of vitamins & minerals. Hibiscus is known to lower blood pressure, cholesterol, to be an anti-inflammatory and have antibacterial properties. The Hidden Hibiscus Tea has a light sweet taste to it which is probably from the cinnamon. I enjoy sipping it at night.
I saw this adorable Lilac Blossom Cast Iron Teapot that features beautiful artwork and decided to go back to using a stovetop kettle. Last year I caved into my boyfriend's electric kettle and although an electric kettle is really efficient, I miss the intense infusion of flavor that a cast iron kettle provides. A stovetop kettle also forces you to slow down and enjoy the tea making process and drinking the tea as opposed to an electric kettle.
I’m also trying to incorporate candle therapy into our home as part of our daily wellness. Candle therapy brings tranquility and can automatically reduce stress levels, which is great after a long day. So, I’ve placed this White Gardenia Candle from Resveralife on my night table where I can easily light it and blow it out when I want to bring my energy down to a relaxed state. The White Gardenia Candle is made of Ylang, Ylang, Jasmine, Rose, Lilly of the Valley, and Orchid to produce a relaxing, citrus and floral aroma.
Managing a daily wellness routine can seem time-consuming and like a lot of maintenance but I believe that if you incorporate and replace bad habits with better habits, a wellness routine can fit seamlessly into your daily life. Routines are rarely perfect so forgiving yourself for messing up will help you be more consistent in the long term. A wellness routine can look any way you want it to. Little things infused into your day can have a big impact. Resveralife has lots of items to help you achieve your optimal level of health and happiness.
