I was recently gifted a bottle of Calm Sexy Hair. It's a CBD formula that is supposed to soothe and strengthen your hair. I've tried several CBD beauty products but this is the first I've tried for hair products. From the start I was a little skeptical because a lot of oil mixed products have alcohol in them which end up doing the opposite of adding moisture to my hair ( especially my ends). At first my ends will feel soft and smooth only to later on end up dried out and brittle.
However, I was pleasantly surprised after using SexyHair Calm Dose to find that my ends hadn't become brittle by the end of the day. I honestly really enjoy this formula and think many of my reader would benefit from knowing about it. Calm Sexy Hair is full of nourishing oils including vitamins A, B, C & E, minerals including Zinc and Iron as well as fatty acids. It also has 99% pure CBD oil and is silicone free. The bottle is made with 85% PCR (Post Consumer Resin) which is discarded plastic that has been recycled, reused, cleaned and reprocessed.
Here's how I used it:
As you can see I have curly hair which I also color so adding moisture and hydration is pivotal to keeping my hair healthy. After I co-wash, apply a leave-in conditioner, I replaced my usual hair oil with Calm Sexy Hair. I focused on the ends of my hair the most and used the residual oil on my hands to move up the shaft of the hair. I was really expecting my hair to dry out and frizz but NOPE! It held up all day.
What It Is and What It Isn't:
Here's the thing though, I think Calm Sexy Hair is great for styling your hair. So I would focus on using it for daytime. It's not a "treatment" oil (i.e. castor oil, etc.) that you would use on your scalp to promote hair growth. For some, it may be effective but Sexy Hair isn't promoting it as such and I wouldn't attempt to replace my tried and true growth focused hair oils with Calm Sexy Hair. However, it's great for adding a bit of hydration to end that need extra care!
