This unboxing and box review of April's Allure Beauty Box is coming to you late. I got my last vaccine shot last month and after recovering decided to take sometime off to take care of some personal and family stuff. April's box is really impressive.
I got a sneak peek at what was in-store via my emails (which I still glanced over while I was away) and wished I had a few of these products with me during my break. Here's the breakdown of April's box:
Don't let the price tag fool you, there's a lot of product in this bottle. It also has a lot of ingredients listed but the top three are baobab oil, goji seed oil, and argan oil. The rest of the ingredients are mainly plant oils including mushroom, pomegranate, and cranberry. It is supposed to hydrate and depuff to provide a rested appearance. You don't need a lot of product. A 1/4 of the recommended a lot goes a long way. This is very emollient and is probably best for night time.
Believe it or not but this is a full size version of the product. It also comes in a jar with the same fl. oz. I was a bit surprised by the size versus price of this moisturizer but I do know that products with collodial oatmeal are often totted as "hero" products and therefore go for higher prices. I'm not familiar with this brand. I did some brief research and learned they primarily make men's products that are also unisex. The moisturizer has hyaluronic acid, shea butter, sweet almond oil, and aloe plus some plant extracts and essential oils.
I don't know what I'm going to do with this because it's clearly not enough for my hair. The packaging says it's best for all hair types BUT the website suggests it's best for fine to medium hair. So my hair isn't super thick BUT I have a lot of hair. So this isn't going to provide enough coverage - maybe for my ends.
"..And then a Hero comes along.." get it? Haha! These are very useful if you find yourself breaking out and need to clear up a few blemishes quickly and without picking I might add. Mighty patches are mini circles of hydrocolloid that you place on top of the head of a pimple. There are 12 patches in total - 6 for day and 6 for night.
Love the color palette as an everyday/travel eye shadow palette. It has 2 matte shades and 2 metallic shades so there's a lot to work with if you're worried this quad palette won't be enough variety on your next trip. I have a few other items from Chella that I think will work well with this palette.
This eyeliner is supposed to last while swimming. I tried it on the back of my hand, waited 5 minutes to see if it rubs off and it smeared so I don't know if i'm doing something wrong but I'll experiment with it more to see how effective it is. I like the shimmery gold but as a eyeliner it kind of blends in with my skin color and my hair. So it ends up looking like I have shimmery eyelids but still it could be fun.
Total value of April's Allure Beauty Box $191
My favorite product out my Allure Beauty Box this month is the Akar Restore Eye Serum and the Chella La Vie Quad Palette. I'm really excited to put those two to work this month!
