PlaceInvaders: Los Angeles' Secret Pop-Up Dinner Series

Last week I was a guest at a secret pop-up brunch hosted by PlaceInvaders. I’ve only heard of these secret pop-up events so this was my first time attending something like this. Each venue is unique and in inconspicuous locations. Their most recent Los Angeles gathering in a beautiful Art District Walk-up in Downtown Los Angeles. We sat at a long gorgeous dining table in a room decorated with worldly trinkets and art.

When I arrived everyone was really friendly and it was easy to connect with people throughout the dinner. The whole event has a really intimate feel – as if this were happening in your very own dining room. Everything is made from scratch and served in courses. Your glass is never left empty!

HERE IS HOW THE DINNER WAS COURSED OUT:

Chilled Santa Barbara Spot Prawn - Yuzu, Baby Celery, Buckwheat Pancake
Fingerling Potatoes - Spring Garlic, Labneh, Trout Roe
Sugar Snap Peas and Baby Turnips - Smoked Pork Broth, Crispy Wakame
Strip Steak & Egg - Tomatillo Romesco, Pepitas, Cotija
Toasted Rice Pain Perdu - Sesame Brittle, Strawberry, Milk Bread
