DTLA NIGHTLIFE: At Mas Malo with Maria & Margarita

Mas Malo Bloody Maria
The first time I had a Bloody Maria was at the JW Marriott’s Mixing Room. It was so incredibly good that I ordered a steak to go with it. That was in 2012 so you know if I remember it so vividly, it must have been incredible! Fast forward to November 2014. Yes, it’s 2014 and I haven’t had a Bloody Maria since because I didn’t want to be disappointed in the way you put a heat dress in the washing machine and it falls apart or you meet an interesting guy and find out that..ummm..well, you get the message.

So I figured that Mas Malo would be a safe bet to jump in again and try a different spin on that Bloody Bitch Maria and let me inform you she was mind-blowing incredible. I mean I literally had to excuse myself from the bar to have a moment. Seriously the spices cleared out every bit of congestion I didn’t even know I had. If I had writers block, Maria would have pushed the boulder off the freeway. I had a whole new level a clarity by the time I was half way through.

Margarita with Chili Salt

My second drink was a more traditional drink, the Margarita rimmed with chili salt. Between spiciness of the Bloody Maria and the contrast of the salted chili threw me another powerful blow. Lets just say that I’m so thankful for Uber because otherwise it wold have been a strange night!
